The BBC has been eavesdropping in the green room again. This time Carol Thatcher has been done for allegedly referring to a tennis player as a "golliwog". The BBC Thought Police (the ones that allow all manner of tasteless swearing and blasphemy but NO un-PC remarks!) swung into action. Carol apologised for the remark, probably with her head in an armlock.
The advice here is don't say a word in jest within the inner sanctums of the BBC. Only a higher form of hypocrisy is allowed which lesser mortals would find hard going to comprehend.
If the BBC "is considering the future of Carol Thatcher as a contributor" let them. I'm sure she will be resurrected elsewhere. As I've said before, racist jokes are not to my taste, although I hardly think her comments fit that bill. No, the real villains of the piece are the toadying earwiggers going off and sneaking a private conversation. They are the nauseating types we should give a wide berth for!
