Shock Horror! Midsomer cops confronted by strange PCs

The producer of ITV1's Midsomer Murders has been suspended after saying the drama "wouldn't work" if there was racial diversity in the show. ITV's Political Correctness Unit has gone into an outrage of humbug over it. Quite OK for them to produce the show for so long, but NEVER EVER say there are no minorities. Talk about being in the closet!

Brian True-May, who co-created the series, told the Radio Times the long-running drama was a "last bastion of Englishness" and should stay that way. Of course, he is utterly right in his comments. This is all fictional fare that keeps many amused as they watch. Bemused too, no doubt. It isn't really serious. Yet you can't speak the bald truth in England anymore if it has anything to do with race, sex or a religion other than Christianity. You have to be sure not to offend the Stasi-like PC brigade.

Every sane person knows that Midsomer Murders is not set amongst the leafless lanes of East London. If you want Eastenders meets Poirot create something. So long as it's watchable, we'll watch.

Mr True-May added, "We just don't have ethnic minorities involved. Because it wouldn't be the English village with them. It just wouldn't work." Asked why "Englishness" could not include other races who are well represented in modern society, he said, "Well, it should do, and maybe I'm not politically correct. I'm trying to make something that appeals to a certain audience, which seems to succeed. And I don't want to change it."

The BBC says that a study in 2006 found the programme to be "strikingly unpopular" with viewers from ethnic minorities. Well, excuse me, if a load of Bollywood movies was stuck up on the screen, I'm sure that they would be "strikingly unpopular" with the vast majority. Not because that majority is made up of bigoted racists all foaming at the mouth, but because they genuinely may not like such TV.

Given the way the country is going, I'm sure that this may get some clamouring for Midsomer Murders to have a Taliban type hacking old ladies about, but I'm quite happy as it is. I watch the show. It doesn't make me a racist, or anything else.

It's just a television programme!

One man dies in 3ft of water, the other is saved after jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge

Britain is still suffering from the New Labour regime's politically correct (incorrect) meddling. They left a legacy where Sodom & Gomorrah met up with the Temple of the Pharisees and the Courts of the Moneychangers. A mish-mash of greed, self-righteousness and arrant hypocrisy. The chief of the regime, Tony Blair, is now acting as some kind of moral trojan horse within the Roman Catholic Church. Quite a few have spotted his low level of acceptance of Catholic belief.

One aspect of the legacy is the dimwitted adhesion government lackies have to health and safety. Most are moronically wedded to the concept. The Daily Mail reports that a charity shop worker was 'left to die' in 3ft of water because rescue workers were worried about their own health and safety. As one person said, "They just all seemed to be standing around".

It beggars belief that sanity can escape the minds of people working in the rescue services. Common sense has given way to a craven desire to genuflect at the altar of political correctness. I still think many put "good at being moronic in difficult circumstances" as skills on their CVs. It seems just what the recruiters are looking for. In response to the death of the man, the fire service and police say they did not enter the water as their regulations ban them from doing so – only specially trained water unit firefighters are allowed to go in.
Hampshire Police’s corporate communications officer Neil Miller admitted that the officers’ actions were for ‘health and safety reasons’, but defended their decision.

HE DEFENDED THE DECISION?

Totally outrageous. Mr.Miller is an utter disgrace. A man died and all he can do is defend the blasted regulations. He should hang his head in shame.

Across the pond and continental USA another, totally different story emerges. A young schoolboy falls off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and survives. It was as if he had just dived into the local swimming pool. He was helped to shore by a surfer who was already in the water. Frederic Lecouturier, 55, said he was surfing under the bridge when he saw the boy jump. "I thought, 'Well, he’s going to die' and then it was a miracle when he popped up alive. I padded out there and he told me he jumped “for kicks”. That’s when I lost it and told him what he did was wrong, that life is precious and he should not take risks like that."

The difference is startling. In Britain, lethargy get's the better of the rescuers. 3ft of water gives them the habdabs and they act as moral cowards. Life is less precious than the regulations. Maybe Mr. Lecouturier could pay a visit to Britain, where he can lose it and tell Hampshire Fire and Rescue that what they did was wrong. Life is precious.

So why are we being encouraged to stand on the sidelines, watching it expire for no other reason than stubborn pigheadedness?

BBC institutionally Left-wing or just plain biased?

Daniel Hannan, in his Telegraph blog, suggests that the BBC is not impartial but that it should be. He asks the question "How is this impartiality to be secured?" and answers by sayng," By the best possible method: the new chairman will be subject to a confirmation hearing by MPs. Instead of being, as in the past, a government placeman, the successful candidate will have to satisfy MPs of all factions – for no party has an absolute majority on the Select Committee – that he will be disinterested."

The BBC is rather peculiar, has irrational tendencies at times and moves through life with some very odd views in tow. I think they are completely and utterly incomprehensible regarding the Ordinariate. It would never suit their purpose to have on Thought for the Day anyone from it. I've never heard anyone from Forward in Faith given airtime, other than to be pilloried for antiquated views, but they've got half a dozen female clerics on hand as if everyone accepts this as the norm. The country may well do. Many have no clue or interest in matters of faith. But why should some be excluded? Has the BBC made a pact with female clerics?

The same is true about those they cannot abide. The BNP is one such organisation. Instead of simply saying that Nick Griffin was able to appear on Question Time in a similar way to Respect or the Green Party due to advancement in electoral support, a whole rigmarole of committee talk is put in place with the eventual programme being a bad joke.

It's as though only certain opinion is permitted, anything else is strictly monitored and given short shrift. We may not agree with some views. That's OK, but a fair hearing is what the BBC should offer, without appearing to be some kind of Stasi-light filtering service. When it came to Griffin's appearance on Question Time all we got was Dimbleby acting like some kind of second rate schoolmaster bating an errant boy.

Peter Sissons has a piece in the Daily Mail claiming standards have fallen at the BBC and accusing producers of being too mired in political correctness to do anything about it. I wish they could see how they are seen by others. Maybe they don't have any mirrors in the corporation?

Mixed sex handshakes banned

Things have got so bad with political correctness that I immediately jumped to the conclusion that a link on the BBC's website was directed at some metropolitan council somewhere in Britain. I just don't like thinking like this. Should I be relieved it's not in Britain but in Somalia? I don't think so. Because people in any part of the world should not have their personal liberties proscribed by a bunch of closeted hypocrites. The group proposing this nonsense is called al-Shabab. A select band of delectibles! It's their sort of social engineering that encourages young men in Derby to commit unspeakable crimes.

Chatting in public is to be banned too! Pity chatting in private by al-Shabab can't be banned also.

Harriet Harman in "ginger rodent" attack

Harriet Harman, or Harperson when she is being all equal, has just lammed in on the Liberal Democrats and Danny Alexander in particularly. I thought she was above all this. Didn't she push through some kind of equalities bill? Isn't it a diabolical crime to say nasty things about people in the workplace? I would have thought calling someone a "ginger rodent" is enough for at least six moths in the slammer. She could then do corrective training and come out a totally rehabilated person. I think the rozzers should pay her a visit. Not for the first time, mind you. She's got form, what with mobile phone driving.

At their very worst Labour can be a bunch of self-righteous shysters. This isn't that bad, but Harperson's the type that thinks she's above it all if she can say she has a track record in this, that and the other. Humbug, basically. Glad they didn't get in.

This all came about because she was ranting on about people not voting for a coalition. She must have low grade O level general politics if she thinks that. People voted as they voted. The result may not be as they wanted, but we live with a party political system that offers only Government and Opposition. She's the latter. Everyone knows that the Tories couldn't make the numbers so a Coalition it is. Simple. Stop wingeing!

Cafe fan banned in case smell of bacon offends Muslims

Now this is a case of political correctness (or more truthfully political stupidity) causing offense all round. This time its the morons from Stockport Council, no doubt being watched by the Cheshire Cat, who have deemed the smell of bacon cooking in a cafe may offend passing Muslims. This council, by the way, is run by LibDems. Come on, get a life, there's a national crisis on!

This whole nonsense was caused by a guy called Graham Webb-Lee, who complained that his Muslim friends refused to visit him becase they ''can't stand the smell of bacon.'' He lives next to the cafe. However, he has apparently been complaining on and off to the council who seemed totally uninterested in his complaints until he got a load of Muslim friends and mentioned this to the council officials. Oh, boy, that changed their tune. They were round to the cafe owner, Turkish Muslim Cetin Akciecek, to read the riot act.

I suppose the next thing is Cetin being marched off for "retraining". The whole thing is outrageous and is just another reason why the Coalition needs to get rid of these morons when cutting council jobs.

Nasty intolerent liberals come bubbling to the surface

I've now found out what Tory election candidate Philip Lardner said. This is it, probably in part, but I took it from the BBC's website.

"As your MP I will support the rights of parents and teachers to refuse to have their children taught that homosexuality is 'normal' behaviour or an equal lifestyle choice to traditional marriage. I will always support the rights of homosexuals to be treated within concepts of (common sense) equality and respect, and defend their rights to choose to live the way they want in private, but I will not accept that their behaviour is 'normal' or encourage children to indulge in it. Toleration and understanding is one thing, but the state promotion of homosexuality is quite another."

David Cameron has apparently gone ape about this. Why, may I ask? There are very many people who do not think homosexual activity is normal or correct. Are those who think so to be expunged from political life. I say to David Cameron, get a life yourself. A proper political life that allows diversity of opinion. Otherwise you are fast becoming a just another no-it-all liberal who is exactly the opposite of liberal.

Chris Bryant says "These comments are completely unacceptable and betray the nasty, judgmental truth behind the Tory camp". Really? This from a man who posed in his underpants on a gay porn site looking "for fun". I'm afraid I can't take Bryant seriously.

This action over Mr. Gardner is political intolerance. It is political censorship. It is very un-British. It is a kind of selective political brainwashing. David Cameron should look in the mirror tonight and ask himself if he is becoming just a tad too precious. Oh, and he still hasn't explained that wisteria removal to my satisfaction!

Conservative candidate pilloried for views!

Woe betide anyone thinking of standing for Parliament with traditional views. Especially if these views touch on the subject of homosexuality. If any candidate so much as squeaks, the politically correct hyenas pounce. Conservative candidate for North Ayrshire and Arran, Philip Lardner, has been suspended for what are considered "deeply offensive and unacceptable" comments about homosexuality. He apparently posted them on his website. I haven't seen them so don't know how "deeply offensive and unacceptable" they were. But what I do know is that there is an insidious undercurrent of Stalinist put-downs every time someone of traditional values expresses an opinion on the subject.

Catholics are portrayed as being a suitable target for shutting up. If David Cameron believes so much in the family, why on earth try to silence people in such a manner. The people of North Ayrshire and Arran can make up their own minds. If they vote for Mr. Lardner, what will Cameron do with him? Put him on the naughty step, so all and sundry passing through the Palace of Westminster can see what happens if you speak your mind - and that mind is out of favour with the liberal elite?

This is very worrying. Are those who feel they have a contribution to make in public life to be silenced if their views are contrary to others? Homosexual practices are not acceptable to many as an ideal basis for a lifestyle. Are they to be pilloried for thinking this way? It is all rather Stalinist. I find it distasteful.

David Cameron gave some wishy-washy response to a question about the Pope's visit. So did Gordon Brown and Nick Clegg. They didn't exactly embrace weasel words, but I guess a fox wouldn't find such sentiments unhandy. If this instant attacking of traditional values doesn't stop, we will end up in some sort of 1984 mind state. Thank goodness for the internet. Some of us can speak up.

When Julian Lewis was attacked by that pompous prig Alan Johnson, his opinions were traduced big time. Johnson just abused the airwaves with something he thought passed for democratic comment. It was nothing of the sort. It was just plain bullying. Alan Johnson has the veneer of a nice man but essentially he comes across as a political bully. Julian Lewis made some points about homosexual relationships. Immediately he was pounced upon. Now everyone is entitled to speak their mind in a free democracy so long as it is not unlawful or inciteful. Also, I would add unpleasant. I can't see anything as such in what Mr.Lewis said. He went on to say "On the other hand (though no-one seems to have noticed), I voted in favour of the civil partnerships bill". Alan Johnson didn't notice.

No, Johnson seems to be an anti-Catholic, anti-Christian, anti-free speech former trade union official who is far more comfortable trying to belittle his opponents by besmirching them than he is protecting their democratic rights. This election is certainly proving to weed out the political pharisees.

St George's Day - England's Day

Happy St. George's Day. My daughter has gone to school to celebrate with face painting and decorating biscuits. It's something she's been looking forward to. Children from all kinds of backgrounds will be joining in and having fun.

I really hope the people of England can now begin to realise that celebrating being English is as good as celebrating being Irish, Chinese or Caribbean. People from these lands know who they are and are justly proud of it. I've never heard anyone say there was anything suspect in a St. Patrick's Day parade. I wonder when we are going to have a St. George's Day parade. I bet if I asked for the streets of Birmingham to be cleared for a jolly flag-waving meandre through town some flinty-eyed pointy-head would react and say it would be a problem.

When the English Democrats launched their general election in Dartford, some fresh-faced copper lunged forward and started to suggest that the very sight of an English flag would be provocative (to some people he had in mind!). He tried to follow this line of argument, but was persuaded of his ridiculousness and he withdrew.

Isn't it a crying shame that the police, council officials and other such people are now infected with this crazed notion that to be English is somehow offensive. It isn't, but these political Pharisees are continuing to infect our politics, our country and who we are.

I want to see a new lot of MPs who will cast aside this political incorrectness and bring back common sense and decency. Being English is not about DNA mixtures but about a sense of values and of belonging. Those who impugn Englishness as they do are decidely not very English in their attitudes. In fact, it's all an alien doctrine they are trying to impose.

Tolerance and decency. That's being English. Ever known a politically correct apparatchik to be tolerant and decent?

NHS becomes politically stupid

I don't get it with the NHS mandarins. Obviously they are in need of brain surgery, preferably new brains if possible. Hot on the heels of the Christian nurse being refused permission to wear a crucifix on a chain, we now get the politically muddled becoming politically stupid.

Muslim doctors and nurses are to be allowed for religious reasons to opt out of strict NHS dress codes introduced to prevent the spread of deadly hospital superbugs. So it's OK if you're a Muslim with a need to follow what you think are rules but not a Christian. The department of Health has some nutters in it.

The Koran does not stipulate how a medic washes. Neither does the Bible. Muslim doctors and medical students said baring arms conflicted with the Koran’s teaching that women must dress modestly in public. In public? Are doctors scrubbing up "in public"? I hardly think a disposable sleeve shoved up the arm is going to help fight superbugs. If modesty problems are causing Muslim medics to swoon and faint let them scrub up under some kind of tent or clinical tabernacle!

It's all a load of tripe. It's this sort of nonsense that causes people to think badly about minorities. In any case, once the discreet scrubbing has been done, what part of the hand and forearm can't be exposed during an operation? It's nonsense leading madness. But then we have a lot of nonsensical people in high places producing the maddening policies imaginable.

Twitter abuse? Yes, says Labour!

A young and inexperienced Labour candidate has been sacked for posting such remarks as "coffin dodgers" and "being sober for the first time in 4 days" on his Twitter account. Not only has he been sacked but his opponents are coming out with pompously self-righteous comments and Jim Murphy describes the episode as if the candidate were a wife-beating monster. Maybe Frankie Howerd was right. "Twitter ye not!" - or at least very carefully during general elections.

My view is that the candidate Stuart MacLennan has been foolish and naive but no more than that. He's probably expressed opinions that most men of his age have done regardless of party allegiance. I think this says more about those commenting about him. Mr. MacLennan didn't curse or blaspheme as far as I know. Plenty of current MPs do both!

It would have been far better to leave Mr. MacLennan where he was as candidate for Moray. I'm sure the voters of this constituency are better placed to judge who they want as their representative than the paragons of virtue who are now "infecting" our political process. I do hope his replacement is not the school swat who has become leader's pet. We want fearless representatives not apparatchiks that act as if they are in toothpaste commercials.

British boy found in Pakistan

Yesterday the BBC was leading with the story that Sahil Saeed had been found in Pakistan. This little boy was abducted by people seemingly bent on making money. He is just an innocent pawn in the machinations of adults.

Firstly, I thought the BBC overdid their political correctness by emphasising that Sahil was a "British boy", as if to ram home to any half-witted incorrect persons they must repeat the mantra. I googled British Boy and the BBC's lead in all this has come up trumps. Sahil is top of the list! I would have thought just describing him as a little boy from Oldham would have sufficed, but then I'm not as mind-bent as the BBC is currently. The Today Programme repeated "British Boy" in rather the same manner as the "Winslow Boy". We all had to know who he was and what he was.

Then there was the David Miliband contribution. The Foreign Office is, as Enoch Powell once described it, a nest of vipers. The media is in a spin about ransom money. Talk of £100,000 being paid for Sahil's release. If I was betting on this, I'd say it is more likely than not that some cash was paid. Pakistan is presently a state populated by bandits and rogues. Decent people live in fear of the crooks and crazies. Miliband pompously states that Britain doesn't pay ransom money. Yes and no is the answer here, I think.

Sahil went to visit his grandmother and got caught up in intrigue and plots. Thankfully, he has come to no harm. Interestingly the yacht couple in Somalia are having no such luck. Of course, Miliband is involved in their case. But I am letting my fevered brow think that doing deals in Pakistan may get some brownie points later on, whereas giving a gun-toting Somali pirate even a measly penny is too much. No oil, no gas, no mileage in Somalia worth contemplating. Pakistan is different.

The capture and release of Sahil Saeed tells us far more about the politics of the world. And the plot thickens by moving to Spain. When Sahil grows up, I hope he is able to be a fantastic influence on the world because we certainly need to sort out a few things adults are getting wrong.

Thin end of the political wedge

A judge has seen fit to throw out the BNP's new constitutional rules. This is on the basis that they are still discriminatory on the basis of race. Maybe they are, but what these liberal minded baters, who are trying to use legal methods to implode or explode the BNP, forget is that such tactics backfire. For much of the past 25 years they have had a prissy policy of holding to a "no platform" approach. They hoped the BNP would drift away. However, as many of these libertine types are responsible for passing bad laws, defending immorality or just brushing unpleasant facts under the carpet, there is plenty of stuff for the BNP to say "I told you so".

Today we have had the conclusion of a review on whether teachers can be members of the BNP. The teaching unions are up in arms over the decision which says they can. Ms Chris Keates, of the NASUWT, is in a lather. She says, "The idea that a person who signs up to membership of the BNP can simply leave these beliefs at the school gate and behave as a 'professional' when they walk into school is risible." That is taking the typical leftie approach. What is definitely risible is that it seems OK to be a left-wing union activist but not be a member of a legal political party. I am all in favour of making sure political parties obey the law but attempting to outlaw personal beliefs, however odious one may find them, smacks of undemocratic actions. Ms Keane just plays into the hands of those in the BNP.

Personal politics have no place in the classroom, BNP or any other party. However, Ms Keates and her chums have infected schools with left-wing propaganda for decades. I know of many members of the Conservative Party, who are teachers, being held as suspect by the likes of Ms Keates. She seems to want a political-cleansing that suits her own propaganda.

I fear that the BNP are going to do well in the general election. They are parading themselves as white knights (literally) in the face of political ineptitude, bonus bagging bankers and corruption in high places. It shouldn't be that way. If the politicians had not seen fit to feather their own nests and the New Labour regime had not interfered on almost every level by imposing crazed ideas on social experimentation, we would have no rise in far-right politics.

The likes of Ms Keates are the cause of Nick Griffin's advancement. She needs a long hard look at herself in a mirror!

Is CPS wanting to be judge and jury?

It seems to me that the Crown Prosecution Service is never satisfied by the outcome of court cases which involve them taking people to court over politically correct offences. The case over the Christian hotelier and the Muslim convert woman has ended with the judge dismissing the case. Now that more facts have emerged pehaps I was hasty in putting forward a judgement. However, it does appear that the two sides were acting like two dormant volcanoes suddenly erupting on the same day!

My attention was drawn to a comment by CPS senior lawyer Nicola Inskip. She said of the case, "We were satisfied that there was sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction that a religiously aggravated offence should be charged." Implying that she felt the Christian couple was at fault not the woman who was a Muslim convert. They basically took sides and came down in favour of the Muslim.

Each time that a case like this is thrown out the CPS offers up a whining comment that they were right and that, by implication, the judge, and jury if involved, were wrong. It is a sign that the infection of political correctness or more actually political incorrectness has invaded almost every part of our civil structure. It is insiduous and somehow we must put a stop to it.

School racist hunters go OTT in barmy episode

You have to hand it to the politically correct. In bucketloads! They are so keen to root out what they consider racist behaviour that they associate harmless remarks with the vilist Nazi propaganda. Teachers have signed up to a morons charter, designed by this ludicrous government, to jot down every word, phrase or remark with a scintilla of assumed racist content.

So it was that a six-year-old girl has been branded a racist for telling a black girl she had chocolate on her face. Innocence turned into a gestapo-style report. When the girl's mother went to collect her she was told the incident was "racist" and that a complaint had been logged.

The school claims it was blown out of all proportion. I hardly think so. Not if it was put in the book! These people are supposed to be running a Church school. They'd be far better off binning this ridiculous book and just taking children's remarks as they come.

All that the school has done is unnecessarily causing the girl to feel guilty about an innocent remark just because they put their political correctness in front of common sense. They do themselves no merit and they are a cancer in society that needs eradicating.

Du Beke Update

It seems the PC Brigade are not so keen to let this rest. Du Beke has been contrite and his dancing companion has been offered a profuse apology which she has accepted. But anti-racism campaign group Hope Not Hate has called for the dancer to be axed. It's hardly hate. I wonder if Giglamps Rentamouth is in this group.

The Indian sub-continent is awash with Indian remarks containing derogatory sayings about Pakistanis. If "Hope Not Hate" wants to calm anywhere down, it will be in India. But then they might be seen as nosey-parker ex-colonialist libertine-minded namby-pamby whities. And I wouldn't blame the Indians one minute for thinking so!

Strictly Come Dancing star not a racist

There has been a row brewing over a remark that Anton Du Beke (or Anthony Beke to his memory) made about his Strictly Come Dancing partner Laila Rouass. He used the term "Paki" in a rehearsal period. Anton is a man given to banter. He likes to prod and probe with words, some of which are inappropriate or meaningless or downright mysterious. However, he gives off no vibes whatsoever of being a racist.

Laila is actually not a Pakistani. She has an Indian mother and a Moroccan father, hence her surname. She was born in London and is English. She is reported to have accepted his apology. She enjoys dancing with Anton.

Now I don't think he should have made the remark. However, the people who seem most upset by all this are not the two people themselves but the politically correct types who have come out of the woodwork to create a stir. They have deemed this word offensive. It may be and probably is. But I think there is a far greater issue here. The promoters of political correctness have a kind of self-righteous guardianship of other people's feelings. They also have a guilt complex gene in their bodies about empire and presumed white supremacy. So they crawl and creep and feign cupboard love to make sure no "ethnic minority person" jumps to the wrong conclusion. It's a kind of pre-emptive strike.

So we all now know this remark was used. No doubt revealed by a BBC insider keen to parrot that the "organisation does not condone offensive language in the workplace". I'd rather people learnt not to use offensive words or swear so much or generally act in a boorish manner. I prefer self-control to self-righteous indignation.

BNP recruiting sergeants!

They seem to be all over the place. Silly people making silly decisions about upsetting people. All they do is make themselves look silly and upset people.

The latest recruiting sergeant for the BNP is Jo Delaney from Havering Council. This silly woman has decreed that paintings that go up in hospitals in Havering should not be depicting churches. "The hospital has asked artists not to submit paintings of churches as they have to be mindful of all religious denominations." OK for mosques and synagogues. Of course this was another unilateral decision between a hospital functionary and a local government functionary.

So what happens as a result of this silly decision. The BNP use it for more propaganda. Is that what you wanted, Ms Delaney?

Miss Rusty teaches fantastically and gets sacked!

In another teacher row, the powers-that-be (mainly self-righteous politically-correct prigs!) have deemed a sexual fantasy too much for pupils to bear. This teacher, known as Miss Rusty (her name is Leonora Rustamova) wrote an account in a book of pupils' sex fantasies, flirting and truancy. This has had a devastating impact in the real world, where fantasies of this kind are not allowed. No, the real fantasies are those like the ones Gordon Brown has at G20 summits. All fantastic!

So she gets sacked. Has anyone complained about her book? No! In fact, there have been mass demonstrations by pupils and a campaign by parents to have her reinstated, along with another teacher who was also dismissed for supporting her. This draconian Calvinistic action was deemed appropriate, but I think it smacks of the worst kind of Yorkshire nonconformism.

Have these people ever read the Song of Solomon in the Bible? Their action is a lot of pious nonsense. We had all that with Lady Chatterly's Lover. The judge asking if it was a book that his butler could read and all the rest of it.

Pornography? Some say it's in the mind. I think there should be a sense of proportion. We are being held to ransom in this country by an unelected army of pen-pushing poseurs all hell-bent on their gender studies and politically correct poison. The real pornography carries on regardless.

We are fools to let it continue!

David Jason in "racist" joke problem!

Last week there was a hullabaloo about a postmaster telling customers who could not speak English either to get an interpreter or to leave the post office. He claimed they took too long in the queue whilst he tried to decipher what they were saying. The fact that he was of Sri Lankan background only helped to fuel the spontaneous fury, mainly from non-integrated Muslims. Deva Kumarasiri had a very valid point. He said, "People should learn the language. It doesn't have to be perfect, mine isn't perfect. To integrate into society you have to learn English. You don't have to change your cultural values, but at least learn the language." Now who, apart from nauseating Taliban supporters and New Labour culturalists, could gainsay that!

The old saying of "When in Rome do as the Romans" is lost on a lot of people. All that goes by the board, especially for the clipboard-hugging, box-ticking PC lot at the BBC.

Now we have a situation where Sir David Jason is brought up short, by the BBC's great arbiters of proper humour, for telling a "racist" joke. This is the offending joke -

"What do you call a Pakistani cloakroom attendant?" Answer - "Me hat, me coat."

Now if you put any other nationality in there it may be acceptable. Try Russian with a different tag line. David Jason hardly knew what hit him. He had been "horrified" when hearing he had "given offence". I'm more horrified at the comedic cleansing going on at the BBC. The corporation is so rectally challenged it hardly knows what to do. An unnamed spokeswoman prissilly says - "The comments made by David Jason were unacceptable and Christian O'Connell (the radio presenter) distanced himself from them live on air. We consider the views of our listeners to be very important and have received no complaints about these comments. We will continue to monitor any complaints and Christian O'Connell will issue an on-air apology in tomorrow's breakfast show."

What a garbled statement! Monitoring non-existent complaints. Get a life, woman!
