Porn Found in Osama Bin Laden Evidence Trove

So the old devil was a sexual animal keen on looking at pornography. Osama Bin Laden may have been the world's most wanted terrorist but basically he was a low level hypocrite. There are many debates about whether pornography is a good, bad or indifferent thing for the human being. But saying that you adhere to high moral standards, such as Islamic belief in sexual integrity, and then do something completely different is, well, hypocritical. Bin Laden spent his days lambasting America and other western countries over sexual immorality. It's one thing to fall from grace, be tempted by sexual gratification, it's quite another to be an inveterate hypocrite. Was he boozing as well, and living life on the hog? Oh, heaven forfend!

Oliver Letwin in Sheffield holiday row

"A holiday in Sheffield! Wow!"

Oliver Letwin occasionally pops up in the news. Then he keeps his head down. This time he apparently made comments about not wanting Sheffield families to afford cheap holidays. The comments were made in a private conversation with Boris Johnson. Not so private. It is alleged that during a conversation with Mr Johnson about new airports, Mr Letwin said, "We don't want more people from Sheffield flying away on cheap holidays." Nick Clegg who is the MP for Sheffield Hallam  told Sky News Mr Letwin had "become the most controversial politician in Sheffield". "I suggest to him that he probably wants to tread with care when he comes to visit a city that I love."

Isn't it all a bit silly? Maybe Letwin was having a jibe at Clegg going away for his skiing holiday and then having to cut it short, forgetting that he was in charge of the country? If all private tittle tattle is picked up on, then where does it end?

I find that Denis MacShane has entered the fray. In a letter to Mr Letwin, MacShane, MP for Rotherham said, "This is pure snobbery that is unworthy of someone with your wealth and privileged upbringing. Can I say these remarks are profoundly offensive to all the people of South Yorkshire who have as much right to enjoy a holiday as the millionaires in the Cabinet."

Can I say that MacShane is a pompous prat who most likely has loads of private conversations we should't or would't want to hear about?

Alternative Poet not Alternative Vote

Those on the liberal side of politics sometimes get a bit too illiberal for my liking. When it comes to fighting elections, and that includes referendums, they can become the best there is in hypocritical behaviour. I well remember a Pakistani friend of mine, who had obediently joined the Labour Party on his arrival in the UK. He soon found out that they could be a nasty racist bunch if they wanted to be. He left them to join the Liberals (as they were then) and soon found they wanted him to be a local council candidate. In real life my friend was relatively light skinned. However, when the local Liberal agent saw the photos of the candidates he asked my friend "Couldn't you tone it down a bit?" implying that the photo was not conveying a likeness he liked. Goodbye to the Liberals! I first met my friend when he had been a Tory for a couple of years. Whilst there are some difficult types in the Conservative Party, nobody ever said a word, at least not in my hearing or his. He thoroughly enjoyed being a Conservative and may well be one still.

I mention this as today I read that the Yes Campaign for the Alternative Vote system (alternative as in alternative comedy?) has been accused of "airbrushing" black poet Benjamin Zephaniah out of leaflets sent to parts of the country. Apparently he was OK for London but not for Cornwall. Cornwall got Tony Robinson gawking at them. When confronted by this outrage a Yes Campaign spokesman said, "These allegations mark a new low for the 'No' campaign and their increasingly desperate smears. Let's put it this way, Operation Black Vote, the Muslim Council of Britain and a host of similar groups are backing the 'Yes' campaign. The BNP are backing the 'No' campaign. People can draw their own conclusions."

Well, I've drawn the conclusion that they DID think about this and that they DID decide that Zephaniah's face should be removed. Cynical in the extreme. Also, I doubt the spokesman passed the idea with the "host of similar groups". "Mind if we get rid of the black guy? He won't go down well in the West Country, you know".

Hypocrites!

And as for the BNP, well, this is a twisted remark. They are against AV but PRO the regional list system. Hardly enthusiastic supporters of the No campaign. Regional lists are as undemocratic as the alternative vote.

I say "Say No to the Yes Campaign" as they are what they are!

Harriet Harman is outraged by the "disgraceful" Boris Johnson!

"Oh no! It's Candid Camera!"

Harriet Harman is a grade A hyprocrite when it comes to castigating people for political offence. She has been making offensive remarks most of her political life. Probably because she fits so badly into the clothes of a socialist. A wolf in sheep's clothing? More like a female polecat on the make.

Today she feigns outrage at comments the mayor of London has made about the Two Eds. That they would be "quietly satisfied" with disorder on a day of protest in London against cuts. Harman says it was a disgraceful remark. As if she has ever been full of grace herself. Who was it who likened the Chief Secretary to the Treasury to a "ginger rodent"? Why, it was the Harperson herself!

She is one to talk. A hypocrite all round!

Gordon Brown's Last Stand

Gordon Brown is beginning to resemble all those characters from history that made a last valiant stand but it all came to nought. Tonight he has been in Manchester sounding forth on Labour's achievements. One side of A4 would do it. I'm not convinced by his rhetoric. But his self-deluding economic giant status that he ascribes to himself is one thing that we can either take or dismiss. It's when he becomes some kind of maverick preacher that I rush for the smelling salts.

Charles II once said that Presbyterianism was not a suitable religion for a gentleman. Listening to Gordon Brown just now I tend to sympathise with the late king's comment. Well, Gordon's version of it. His moral compass seems to be in its very own electrical field currently. He judges the Conservatives in a very nasty way. He says, with extra shoulder heaving, that they "pass by on the other side". The suggestion that the Labour Party under Gordon Brown is some kind of jamboree for good samaritans is laughable. What he said tonight kind of drives a coach and horses through the New Testament. For one thing, he is leaving political debate behind and getting dangerously close to judging souls. "Thou shalt not bear false witness"? Was this ever raised in the manse? Maybe its OK these days in the Labour Party.

Gordon Brown sneers at the concerns of committed Christians who hold to a traditional understanding of the Faith. He may have jettisoned doctrine he finds incompatible with melding a secular society into shape, but others haven't. Democracy is all about hearing the opposing view with respect and dignity. I get the distinct impression that many in the Labour Party are just political bullies. Pity!

Oh, and speaking of respect, I hear George Galloway is taking Labour to the cleaners for alleged postal ballot frauds. It would be far better if Gordon took time to dig out the motes in Labour's eyes before trying to suggest others had beams in theirs.

First class fun on the trains

I've heard Nicholas Winterton speak up about travelling first class on the trains and I am probably a lone voice here but I think he has a point (even if he put it in a vigorous non-PC way!). Not only that, but most of the gainsayers are hypocrites. I can't for the life of me think that Rupert Murdoch would travel on a train in Britain in second class (or is it standard class?). It is quite right to say that first class offers the benefits of an office environment. The Radio 5 presenter was just trying to be provocative. I've travelled on a train down to London by standard fare. Stop at Coventry, Rubgy, etc and all sorts get on, piling up the numbers. Yes Radio 5, all sorts. People eat sandwiches from paper bags that stay on the tables, they listen to radios with earpieces sounding like a telephone on hold with an impatient caller trying to establish contact, children get tetchy, luggage is strewn in the gangway, and you get the trolley (if it is on board!). Most train companies have only one objective. Getting trains to the destination on time with as many passengers on board as possible. Having a seat is not necessarily a right. If you have to stand all the way to London, so be it. In that, nothing has changed since Doc Beeching's days.

When it comes to MPs expenses it seems we have passed the serious criticism stage and gone into the petty jealousy stage. Hypocrisy abounds. I hope never to see a Radio 5 presenter or a Daily Maily reporter in first class. In fact, why have first class. Apparently there is no need for it. Everyone is equal under Harriet Harperson's diktats. Let everyone go in one class of train. There is not a person in the land who is so important that he/she can't jolly themselves with the "ordinary people".

We need to get a grip in Britain. Either expenses are fair to have or not. If MPs are deemed unfit for first class travel, what about quango chiefs and any other government person? This story just reflects the base level certain sections of society are seeking to set their lovely equality theories at.

Ed Balls in Nazi uniform shocker!

We all knew New Labour was sleazy. Perhaps their constant denigration of the Tories in 1997 was just a ruse to hide their own propensity for hypocrisy, petty sniping and financial greed through subterfuge. A long time ago, some wag said that the downfall of the Tories was sex and the downfall of Labour was money. The Liberals weren't mentioned, but history tells us it was both and some more!!

So Ed Balls, student boozer and amateur sexist, has some history that the Daily Mail has unearthed. I don't condemn him for student nonsense. We've all been there. What I do condemn is his new-found prissy politics which tends to condemn others, especially the Tories, when he, and his prissy wife, suggest that they alone have the moral high ground. The more this government is in power, the more it appears to be a moral low bog.

Harriet Harman - the kind of girl your father warned you of!

Harriet Harman has some cheek. She is the prim and proper daughter of radical upper class types, who has spent a lifetime cajoling others in the benefits of socialism, but failing to live up to her own words. She has been caught out with dodgy donations; she has, like other New Labour apparatchiks, weasled her way round the education system for her own children whilst espousing "local schools" for others.

Positioning herself as a feminist and Labour party survivor, she has a mean streak which is somewhat unpleasant. So it is not surprising that she accuses the Conservatives of "breathtaking arrogance", saying leader David Cameron was "not quite right". She goes on - "He's the kind of man your mother used to warn you about. He'll promise you the world. But if he ever got his wicked way with you - in the ballot box - you'd never hear from him again."

Well, we heard from her alright. Her party has caused the Treasury pot to become empty, she has been over zealous in her determination to support all the anti-freedom measures of this government, such as ID cards, 42 days detention, surveillance of the individual and a cavalier attitude to international law. The inept handling of sensitive computer material, the lax approach to prison releases, the slapdash way the state of our hospitals is handled, and the general "briefing" in the press rather than confronting Parliament with the facts all add to the mayhem.

The Labour Party has a coterie of sleazy hangers-on, all supping at a table with "New Labour" ideas laid out on it, which the rest of us find unpalatable. All in all, Harriet Harman has brass neck - I'll give her that.

She is the kind of woman no Tory could really feel comfortable with. A whiff of hypocrisy, the scent of duplicity, but above all a cold fish attitude to those she disagrees with.

I'd hazard a guess that most fathers would warn their sons of her "charms"!!
