Google Plans To Make YouTube More Like TV

Google is apparently planning to invest close to $100 million on revamping the website to tailor it for viewing on television sets. YouTube executives have said that they want to enable people to "watch YouTube" just as they "watch TV." That should be a kind of role reversal as reality TV snippets have been popping up YouTube. Either way, it's more of the ridiculous trumping the sublime.

However, I'm a fan of YouTube. Just like the internet as a whole it covers the widest spectrum. And YouTube acts as a popularity test for the world's tastes and proclivities. Any visitor from outer space would find all he/she/it wants to know about the human race by watching a sample of the videos on offer.
